Hello and Welcome!

Heey this is the first post on my new blog. I've been looking for little fun projects to do and a place to document them and this is it!

I’ve been pretty fed up with how much of the internet is trying to sell you something or sell you to someone.

I was looking for some information on how to add push notifications to websites and I kept running into people trying to sell large scale solutions to my problem instead of just giving me the information on how to do it myself. It led me to reminisce about how the internet was when I was younger.

I miss going to someone’s website or social media page and it being a manifestation of their interests.

I miss the creative arms race of people trying to outdo their friends and online communities with the unique ways they can fit their interests onto the web. This was the mindset I was in when Psychcool’s “Basic Guide To The Personal Web” found me.

In 22 minutes and 16 seconds Psychcool gives a pretty comprehensive guide on how to get started with a website that is inline with the principles and aspirations of the early web. Almost none of the information in the video was new to me but Psychcool does such a wonderful job of compiling the information and making their case that I was compelled into action. I needed to find people’s blogs and I needed to start one of my own.

So here we are! The first post on my new blog! The blog is running using Zonelets Neocities tool by Marina Kittaka that I discovered after falling in love with Marina’s game Sephonie and rediscovered in Psychcool’s video. I plan on adding some new posts very soon. I would like to talk about:
